Sarlat major events

Sarlat major annual events: 

  • Truffle Festival with its culinary symposium of foie gras and truffle - 3rd week-end in January, every year
  • Sarlat Fest’oie: Sarlat celebrates its web-footed emblem with a goose fair - 3rd Sunday in February, every year
  • Ringueta: Festival celebrating the traditional games of the past - every 2 years, on Whit Sunday
  • Art Festival: Arts for all festival made by the people living in Sarlat - every year in May
  • Summer exhibition: Each year, the work of a different artist is presented - from June to September. The latest ones were painter Juan Miró in 2009, photographer Jean Loup SIEFF in 2008, painter Alberto Giacometti in 2007, sculptor Michel Dauguet in 2006, sculptor Jean-Louis Toutain in 2005, painter Miréio in 2004, "Dali intime" in 2003
  • Fête de la Musique: National music day on the 21st June every year throughout the medieval town
  • Theatre Games Festival: One of the eldest theater festivals in France (since 1952) - from end of July to early August
  • National exhibition of Photographic art - in July and August
  • European Heritage Day: 3rd week-end in September - in the evening “Sarlat’s heritage beneath the stars”, for all members of the public
  • Movie Festival - Mid-November
  • Christmas Market and outdoor skating rink: in December  (up to 40 wooden chalets selling arts and crafts; numerous entertainments, and a free play area for children)
  • Les Hivernales: Exhibition of works from local artists - Christmas holidays
