Description

A conservatory for endangered species, the Réserve Zoologique de Calviac is home to nearly 200 animals native to four geographic zones: Europe, Madagascar, South America and Oceania. What makes this park special is that visitors may enter into contact with certain animals, such as lemurines, wallabies and various species of birds.

The fully wooded site reveals itself along the 1.5 km of a fun, educational circuit, including a marmoset treehouse, wolverine observatory, transparent beehive, maned wolf lookout, and squirrel monkey forest, among much more.

The mission of the reserve is to preserve animal species through European breeding programmes on the Calviac site, as well as in their natural habitats. In fact, at the end of your visit, you may vote for the programme of actions that you choose to support.

The Réserve Zoologique de Calviac is an ecologically-managed, not-for-profit institution. A café and souvenir shop in the former barn, built along the cliffside, adds a finishing touch to your tour.
