Overview
“Prehistologia” is situated at Lacave (Lot) in the Lotoise Dordogne valley and in the midst of the regional natural park of Causses du Quercy, between Sarlat (40 km) and Rocamadour (5 km).

As you follow the road that materialises from this giant book, you are propelled into the most distant past. The journey begins with the Big Bang and the formation of the Earth more than 5 billion years ago. As you follow through the various geological eras, you will discover the first appearances of life in the oceans, the dinosaurs from their beginnings through to their extinction, the first flying reptiles, the first birds, the large prehistoric mammals and the evolution of man from our ancestors 3 billion years ago to Neolithic man. A detailed plaque explains each scene.
This very educational visit will please adults and children alike.
